A Healthier Breakfast

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and by adding Aloe Vera to your morning you can start the day off right.

Forever sells Aloe Gels in 4 different types all with different benefits.
Yellow: The Classic Aloe Vera Gel, as close to the natural plant as you can get!
Red: Forever Aloe Berry Nectar, a cranberry-apple flavoured gel. This one's good for the waterworks with a high vitamin C content.
Orange: Forever Aloe Bits n' Peaches, a peach flavoured gel. High in vitamin A and improves the health of the immune system (my personal favourite!)
Blue: Forever Freedom, orange flavour. This is recommended for athlete's or anyone on the move! Keeps the joints good and healthy.

Aloe Vera Benefits:

1. A healthier heart
2. Reduces inflammation
3. Assists with digestion
4. Has detoxifying properties
5. Strengthens the immune system
6. Helps the skin
7. Reduces stress
8. Improves blood circulation
9. Balances blood sugars
10. Promotes hair growth

It is recommended that we all take 60ml of these gels a day to get the full benefits. As well as drinking the gels straight, I wanted to show you a few ways that you can consume the gel without even noticing! These recipes can be used with any of the gels.

Banana and Berry Smoothie with Aloe (serves 2)

Ingredients:

1 small banana
150g of mixed berries (You can use raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries)
Apple juice or water
Honey
60ml of Aloe Gel

Method:

Slice the banana and place in food processor or blender, add you berries and whizz until smooth. Add your apple juice or water until it is at a consistency you like. Add the aloe gel and a squeeze of honey to sweeten. Top with berries. Enjoy!

Creamy Peach Smoothie with Aloe (serves 2)

Ingredients:

1 ripe peach
1 banana
170g of low fat peach yogurt

One teaspoon of honey
60ml of Aloe Gel Bits n' Peaches
1/4 cup of orange juice

Method:

Prepare your fruit. Whizz the fruit in blender until smooth then add the rest of the ingredients. Top with honey to sweeten.

I have discovered that this is my very favourite way to drink aloe vera. The peach smoothie steals my top spot, the peach flavoured gel blends so nicely with the other ingredients to make a fantastic smoothie. With the gel, not only do you get the regular benefits of a fruit smoothie but also the many benefits of aloe vera itself!

Review: Flawless by Sonya- Aloe Nourishing Serum

I have never been one too bothered with serums, or any kind of pre-make products, until trying this. Sonya's Aloe Nourishing Serum with white tea claims to "preserve and replenish your skin's moisture to help maintain it's youthful appearance", and I can tell you, it does not lie!

For the past week I have been using this serum as a primer under my makeup everyday and have been extremely impressed so far. Not only is it hydrating and lightweight, the refreshing cream gave my complexion a lovely glow and my makeup glided on so easily on top. As a primer it reduces the appearance of pores, making the make up application far easier with a smooth base. As a moisturizer it leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft while not leaving sticky excess on the skins surface. Plus- it smells delicious!

To apply use three pumps of the serum and apply to your face, neck and any other parts of the body that may need some extra moisture! It works best when applied in the morning and the evening.

This product is completely natural with no added preservatives or colouring agents, and is also proudly cruelty free. Forever products are one of only brands that can be used by absolutely anyone.

I adore this serum and believe it should play a part in everyone's day to day skincare routine, at €46.52 for nearly 120ml it is not in everyone's budget, but compared with the price of Mac's Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion Primer at €40 for only 50ml, it's a steal!
